Xono Limited Cookie Policy
WHAT ARE COOKIES
The Information Commissioner describes cookies (or similar technology) as a small file of letters and numbers which is downloaded on to your computer or device when you visit a website.
Cookies are used by many websites and can do a number of things, for example remembering your account and settings preferences, remembering content in a shopping basket and counting the number of people looking at a website.
In addition, where websites allow users to log in to services, authentication cookies are the most common method used to know whether a user is logged in or not.
Tracking cookies and third-party tracking cookies, are commonly used to compile long-term records of individuals' browsing histories.
Strictly necessary cookies typically enable websites to operate properly, or allow purchases to be safely completed. Cookies which are not strictly necessary include tracking cookies or cookies used for the purposes of web analytics.
The rule is that strictly necessary cookies may be placed on your device without consent, so long as you are told about them — as this notice does — whereas any other cookie would require your express consent first. As set out below, we have chosen not to use cookies that would need consent, so the question does not arise on this website.
OUR POSITION IN SHORT
Our website, www.xono.online, sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. We took this position deliberately: we sell privacy and compliance software, so it would be a poor advertisement for us to track the people reading about it.
In practice that means we have removed the third-party services most websites load without thinking — analytics, hosted fonts, icon libraries and script CDNs. We host all of them ourselves, so your browser contacts no one but us.
There are three narrow exceptions, set out below. Two of them only happen if you choose to click something, and the third applies to our logged-in dashboard rather than this website.
INFORMATION ABOUT OUR USE OF COOKIES
1. This website
No cookies. No local storage. No tracking pixels, advertising tags or fingerprinting.
2. Content you choose to load
Two features load content from another company, but only after you click:
- Trustpilot reviews. Our reviews are not loaded until you select “Show our Trustpilot reviews”. If you do, Trustpilot may set its own cookies, governed by Trustpilot’s policies rather than ours. If you never click, Trustpilot is never contacted.
- The product video. The video is not loaded until you open it. We use YouTube’s no-cookie domain, which limits — but does not eliminate — what YouTube stores. Again, if you never open the video, YouTube is never contacted.
3. Our dashboard and mobile app
Signing in to our dashboard or App requires one strictly necessary cookie, described in the table below. It exists solely to keep you logged in. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent, because the service you have asked for cannot work without them.
ANALYTICS
We measure how our website is used with Umami, which we run on our own servers. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so it cannot follow you between sites or build a profile of you.
Because we host it ourselves, your browsing data is never sent to an analytics company. To be transparent about what does happen: your IP address is processed briefly, in memory, to work out roughly which country a visit came from and whether it is a repeat visit within the same day. It is not stored against you. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding whether our website is useful, and this is described in our Privacy Policy.
COOKIES WE USE
The table below lists every cookie we set ourselves.
| Cookies We Use | Name | Purpose | More information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | AccessToken |
Keeps you signed in to the Xono dashboard and mobile app. Not set on this website — only after you sign in. |
Set when you log in; cleared when you log out, and expires after one month. Exempt from consent as strictly necessary. |
ADVERTISING AND TRACKING
We do not use advertising networks, retargeting pixels, social media tracking tags or any form of cross-site tracking, and we do not sell or share browsing data with anyone.
YOUR CHOICES
There is no cookie banner on this website because we set no cookies you would need to refuse. If you would rather no analytics were recorded at all, either of the following works, and neither will break the site:
- Enable “Do Not Track” or an equivalent setting in your browser — our analytics respects it.
- Use any standard content blocker.
Simply not clicking the Trustpilot or video buttons is enough to ensure neither of those companies is contacted.
Blocking the strictly necessary cookie described above in your browser settings will prevent you signing in to the dashboard or App, since it is what keeps you logged in.
